Read to Someone!

Last week was such a fun week with the leprechaun prancing around playing tricks on us but it was also great because we learned about the last of the Daily 5 spots: READ TO SOMEONE!!!  We joined forces with Miss Smith's amazing first graders who were the perfect teachers.  The kindergartners learned about EEKK (sitting "elbow, elbow, knee, knee"), checking for understanding and "I read, you read!"  Each morning for over 30 minutes the kindergartners practiced with the help of the first graders and LOVED it!

A Hunting We Will Go!!!

A little leprechaun was hanging around our classroom during St. Patrick's Day week. He sent a note saying he'd give us his pot of gold if we could catch him. We really tried! Take a peek at the pictures and see what happened!!

Here we come!  Ready or not leprechaun!!

We stopped in the office first on our way to Mr. Martin's office.

Mr. Martin was off chasing the leprechaun but we did find another clue.  It sent us to....

....the library!

Another clue which sent us to....

....the kitchen!  We thought for sure he'd be there.  However, he said we'd find him back in the classroom!

Oh my!!!

What havoc he caused!

And left lots of gold dust behind!!

The kids couldn't believe what happened!

Then over in the corner we found this!

An open window, some gold chocolate coins and another note!!  And more gold dust!

Add it Up!

This week we completed our unit on addition.  It's one of my favs.  Yesterday the kids made "live" addition problems using any materials they wanted.  Then they walked around and solved each one. It was soooooo much fun!!!  Here they are....can you solve them??

Happy 100th Day to Us....a Little Belated!

We made it....about a month ago to 100!!  Sorry this is soooo late!  We've been busy here in kindergarten.  Kindergarten didn't end once we reached this magic number as some believed it would. Lol! Our 100th day was a FANTASTIC one!  WOO HOO! The projects were AMAZING as you saw at our recent Open House.   Enjoy the pictures!

We had fun on our project walk!  Each child got to share his/her collection.

Could it be ZERO THE HERO!!??

I love this picture!! They were chasing after him and didn't want him to leave!
