Can you s3e it???

It's Throwback Thursday! Two years ago, during a beautiful fall afternoon one of my student's named Brooke said, "Mrs. Gagné, I see a 3 in the tree."  It was even during math time!  Confused, I asked her to explain and she directed me to the window and said, "LOOK!"  Can you s3e it???

I will never forget that special moment in the classroom.  I hope you think it's a awesome as I do.  I have looked each year at that same tree and the 3 hasn't returned! Maybe next year!

We accomplished a great feat recently....drum roll please....the kids now know the entire Alphabet Chant!!!  They are so excited!  I am so excited!  And, you will be so excited to see it!  Mrs. Blaustein visited us last week and videotaped it for us.  Your child is bringing home some magic sound sprinkles today.  He/she will be casting the spell on YOU and then performing the chant!  Please join in on the fun!

Down on the Boyert's Farm!!

Howdy Y'all!
We had so much fun at the farm last week.  Click on the "Photos" tab at the top of the page to see all of the pictures from our trip.  There are lots!!!

Meet Our Sharecrow!

The kindergartners created a "sharecrow" on Wednesday to provide food for the birds and other wildlife during the chilly winter months.  His name is Hilton (so aptly named by the kids) and he resides in the front of the school.  They created cereal necklaces and added other snacks to the sharecrow (seeds, cranberries, pumpkins, raisins and corn).  We'll keep restocking him in the upcoming months.  You are also welcome to create a cereal necklace or bracelet at home for our sharecrow.   Click on the Photos tab at the top to see more pictures....

Apple Fun!

We had fun learning about apples last week as we prepared for our upcoming trip to the farm.  The class loved the story about the little red house with no doors and windows and a star on the inside! Can you guess what that may be?  Yes, a red apple! We also did some tasting to determine which variety of apple we like best.  Thanks to all of the families who sent in apples and the yummy cider, too!

There's the star!

Apples are sooo yummy!!
